What to expect from us if you raise a concern
We investigate all cases objectively and independently
What our investigation would involve
If we decide that a concern is within our remit at the triage stage, we will carry out an initial investigation
How we investigate health concerns
The HCPC takes a proportionate approach to investigating concerns about a registrant’s physical or mental health
The Investigating Committee
The Committee's role is to meet to consider all evidence put before them and decide whether there is a case to answer in respect of the allegation against the registrant
Misuse of title
We consider misuse of title cases, where individuals use one of our protected titles without being on our Register.
Consent and confidentiality
It is important that you get the service user’s permission, or ‘consent’, before you share or disclose their information or use it for reasons which are not related to the care or services you provide for them
Communication and using social media
Our standards require registrants to communicate appropriately and effectively
Equality, diversity and inclusivity (EDI) monitoring information
This is the final stage of the process, but it is separate from the application
