Following a comprehensive review and consultation in 2025-26, the standards of education and were revised in September 2026, coming into effect in September 2027. 

We have revised the standards that help make sure that future health and care professionals have the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to deliver safe and effective care. They come into effect in September 2027.
