Case study: Lilly is a Band 5 registered dietician who works in a community healthcare centre. Lilly has recently been asked by her employer to supervise Isaac, a second-year student dietician, during his practice-based learning.

Case study: The NHS Counter Fraud Unit of the local NHS Trust raised concerns about a physiotherapist. On numerous occasions, the registrant submitted timesheets and claimed payments for hours they did not work.

Case study: A biomedical scientist’s employer raised concerns following an incident where the registrant failed to follow procedure. When processing samples, the registrant failed to prevent contamination, which led to inaccurate results.

There's just one week until 1 September 2023, when the updated HCPC standards of proficiency come into effect. We encourage all registrants to ensure they understand the updates and are ready to integrate them as far as they relate to their scope of practice.
