Each of the professions regulated by us has at least one professional body and/or association.
Professional bodies play a valuable role by providing profession-specific guidance and support, which may include:
- promoting the profession;
- advocacy and advice;
- representing members;
- curriculum and career development frameworks;
- research support;
- support for professional growth and continuing professional development (CPD);
- post registration education and training; and
- and information about the generally accepted scope of practice of a profession.
Whilst these organisations are separate from the HCPC, their role may be complementary to ours.
