What you should expect from your health and care professional

The level of care you receive from a registered professional should meet our standards

Be Sure - check the Register and find a professional

We keep a Register of health and care professionals who meet our standards for their training, professional skills, behaviour and health

What happens when you receive my concern

We will review your concern to decide whether it is about an issue that is within our remit to investigate

What to expect from us

We recognise that the fitness to practise process can be a stressful experience so we try to make our process as open and clear as possible

What our investigation would involve

If we decide that a concern is within our remit at the triage stage, we will carry out an initial investigation

Professional liaison groups

A professional liaison group (or ‘PLG’) provides advice to the Council or committees on strategic issues. Either the Council, or a committee can decide to set up a PLG, to look at a specific issue and report back.

Health and social care regulators

We work closely with the other UK health regulators to share best practice in a variety of areas. These include HR, education, equality and diversity, communications and governance.
