If your application is successful, you’ll be asked to pay a registration fee to join the Register
The registration fee covers at least one year of your profession's 'registration cycle' and any other scrutiny or processing fees.
The amount depends on whether you made a UK, international or readmission (including return to practice) application.
All are non-refundable and must be paid online.
UK applications
The registration fee for UK applications is £333.02.
This is made up of the application scrutiny fee and the fee for a two-year registration cycle:
- The scrutiny fee is a one-off payment of £86.34, which is the fee to process your application. It must be paid in full.
- The fee for a full two-year registration cycle is £246.68, which is £123.34 per year. If you join the Register within the second year of your registration cycle, only one year will be payable.
UK 'new graduate' fees
New graduates are individuals who have successfully completed a UK approved programme within the last two years. We reduce the registration fee for new graduates by 50 per cent.
A new graduate’s registration fee for a full two-year registration cycle is £123.34, which is £61.67 per year.
If a new graduate joins the Register less than six months before the start of the next professional year, they receive the remainder of the period free of charge (the ‘free period’).
International applications
The registration fee for international applications is £370.02.
This is the fee for three professional years: the upcoming two-year registration cycle (£246.68) plus the second year of the current registration cycle (£123.34).
If you join during the first year of your profession's registration cycle, only two years will be payable.
Readmission applications
The registration fee for readmission applications is £308.35.
This is made up of the registration fee for one professional year (£123.34) plus a readmission fee (£185.01).
There is no fee for applicants using the short readmission route (applying within one month of leaving the Register).
What is a 'registration cycle'?
A 'registration cycle' is a two-year period that begins and ends on fixed dates. The dates are the same for all members of your profession. Each profession has a different registration cycle.
At the end of the cycle, all members of the profession must renew their registration and pay for another two-year period. Their registration is then valid for the next two years.
Each cycle is made up of two 'professional years'. When you join the Register, your registration fee covers at least one of these years.

How do I pay the registration fee?
Registration fee payments are made through your HCPC online account. Successful applicants will receive a link to set up their account via email.
You'll need to pay in full online, using a credit or debit card.
Please allow up to three days for the payment to reach our account – payment processing speeds can differ depending on your bank.
Can I pay by direct debit?
You can pay one year by direct debit, if you’re eligible to pay for the full two-year registration cycle.
You can opt to set up a direct debit instruction for the second year, which will be collected in instalments.
You can set up a direct debit instruction during the payment process, or in the 'My Details' section of your online account. Under 'My Details' you'll find a direct debit mandate section in which you can enter your bank account name, account number and sort code into the fields provided.
