Section 3 – Education and training

In this section you’ll be asked for details about your qualification

What you'll be asked

In this section you'll give the details of the education or training programme from which you gained your qualification.

We ask for these details so that we know where you studied or trained. After you submit your application, we will check these against a 'pass list' that your education provider will send us.

You'll be asked:

  • the name of your education provider;
  • the programme start and end dates;
  • the mode of study; and
  • the name of your programme.

The drop-down list will show the programmes that are approved based on the profession you've entered.

If you can't see the name of your programme

If you can't see the name of your programme, this may be for one of the following reasons:

  • If you can't see your programme, it may be because the start and end dates you've entered are incorrect.

    You can check our list of approved programmes to confirm your programme dates.

  • Historical programmes were approved by other regulatory or professional bodies, for which we have taken responsibility. These include the Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine (CPSM), or the voluntary systems of professional bodies.

    If your programme is on the historical programmes list, please select ‘Historical programme’ from the drop down menu. You will then be provided with a field to manually enter the name of your education provider.

    Check whether your programme is a historical programme

  • If you hold an Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) certificate of competence, you'll need to select 'Institute of Biomedical Science' as your education provider. Then enter the relevant details about your registration portfolio.

  • If your programme is not on the approved programmes list or the historical programmes list, you will not be able to continue your application. Please contact us if you are not sure.
