As an HCPC registrant, your professional and legal duty is to respect and protect the confidentiality of service users at all times.
However, in some circumstances—such as a situation where you need to prevent serious harm to other people—it may be necessary to disclose confidential information. In this type of situation, you need to consider whether it is in the public interest to disclose the information, and seek appropriate advice and support as necessary.
