How to apply for registration
This page contains information about applying for registration for applicants who hold an approved qualification.
Completing an approved programme does not guarantee someone will become registered. It shows us the applicant meets our professional standards and is eligible to apply for registration. We need additional information from them in order to be able to register them.
The information provided by applicants helps us to know that:

they are who they say they are;

they meet our standards; and
-
we can contact them if we need to.

Your application must include:
- a certified copies of two forms of identification, one with your photo and the other with your current address; and
- the registration fee.
Identification
Your two forms of identification must be certified (signed as a true copy of the original).
Professionals that can certify include:
- registered health professionals;
- teachers;
- accountants;
- solicitors; and
- bank managers.
Fees
Students currently receive a 50 per cent discount on the first two years registration.
Full current fees (As 1 Aug 2015):
- Scrutiny fee: 63 pound
- Registration fee: 90 pound for two years (including discount)
To receive the discount you must apply within two years of qualifying.
Processing your application
To prevent delays in processing please ensure that you refer to the guidance included with the forms and that:
- forms are complete before returning them; and
- you have included your payment.
We aim to process applications within ten working days. If we return your form incomplete it will not be fast tracked on resubmission.
When you are registered
Once registered your details will appear immediately online. You will also receive a certificate and ID card shortly after registering.
Your authentication card carries a code. This code allows you to change your contact details securely online. Please keep your card safe as you will need your code each time you contact HCPC.
It is vitally important that you keep your contact details up-to-date.
