This report is the second in a series of research reports on the regulation of the health professions registered with the HPC. This is a new departure, and reflects the HPC’s commitment to building the evidence base of regulation. We are planning further publications over the coming years, each of which will explore different aspects of the regulatory landscape. We hope that over time these pieces of work will contribute not only to our own understanding of regulation in the health and social care sector, but also to a wider audience of stakeholders with an interest in this area.
