The number of physiotherapists that have entered the register through the Grandparenting scheme - July 2015

Thank you for your email in which you asked for the number of physiotherapists that have entered the register through the Grandparenting scheme and out of those how many have come from overseas applicants

Your request has been handled under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) (2000).

I have attached 2 reports with the statistics you require.

Please note, the report registrants by profession indicates the number of registrants in each profession currently. The registrations by application type report indicates the route to registration for Physiotherapists since July 2003, up to the end of March 2015. Applicants can use the Grandparenting route (when it is open) or the UK route (generally newly qualified UK graduates), or the international route if trained outside the UK education system. It is not possible to apply under the international and the Grandparenting routes at the same time.  Applicants in the physiotherapy profession had two years to apply under the Grandparenting scheme after HPC registers opened in 2003. Some of these Grandparenting applications took some time to progress through the application process.
