Muhammad is a HCPC-registered clinical scientist and registration appeals panel member

What is your role at the HCPC and what do you do?

I am a registration appeals panel member. My role is to listen to the information given in an appeal and decide what the important issues are. I look at the facts carefully and ask questions when something is unclear. I work with other panel members to make fair decisions that follow the law and protect the public.

What do you like most about being a Partner?

I enjoy working with different people and learning from them. I like that everyone is treated with respect and has the chance to share their side of the story. I also like helping to make fair and clear decisions that support public trust.

What are the challenges?

A challenge is making sure I understand all the information, especially when cases are complex. It can also be difficult to work under pressure and make decisions quickly but still fairly. Another challenge is staying focused and making sure everyone is treated equally at all times.

Tell us a surprising fact about yourself.

A surprising fact about me is that even though I am a clinical scientist in the NHS and an HCPC registrant, I never expected that one day I would become a Partner with the HCPC. Over the years, working in healthcare has taught me many important values, like fairness, respect, and putting the public first. These values have shaped me, and now they help me contribute to the work of this governing body.
