HCPC is looking for a new Lay Council member

01 Sept 2026

Council members play a key part in setting strategy and policy for the HCPC and ensuring that public protection is at the heart of everything that we do.

This is your opportunity to join the HCPC at an exciting moment, having just published our new corporate strategy 2026-31, and play a pivotal role in the current and future regulation of the sector.

We always want to make sure that our Council represents a diverse range of interests, experiences and skills. Therefore, lay members must not be eligible to be, or have ever been, a registrant with the HCPC.

Being a Council member is a truly rewarding and fascinating role. You will gain a unique opportunity to share your opinions and perspectives on the future of health and care regulation, and help shape the HCPC’s progress on key issues such as the intelligent use of data, harnessing emerging technologies safely, organisational and environmental sustainability, equality, diversity and inclusion, and supporting allied health workforce planning.

Christine Elliott, Chair of the HCPC

The deadline for applications is 10am on Monday 28 September 2026.
