What we check after receiving your application

After you submit your application, we check and verify your details. This will cover: 

• Your qualification
  
  We'll request confirmation of your qualification from your education provider. They provide this in the form of a 'pass list'.
  
  Sometimes education providers can't provide the pass list immediately. We'll email you to let you know if this affects you. Your application will be placed on hold until we receive it.
  
  If you need to, you can contact your education provider to ask them to look into the pass list.
  
  
• Background checks
  
  We'll conduct background checks to verify the information you’ve provided about yourself. If any information is missing, we'll email you to let you know.
  
  Background checks may be completed by us, our agents or their representatives. The information you provide may be disclosed to government agencies and other third parties such as employers, referees and professional bodies. The information may be used outside of the EEA if appropriate.
  
  

When you'll hear from us

Your application will be reviewed by our Registration team, usually within 10 working days.

We’ll let you know the outcome by email.

• If your application is incomplete (missing information or documentation), our email will let you know what you can do to complete it.
• If your application is successful, you’ll be asked to pay a registration fee to join the Register.

Why haven't I heard from you?

Our timeline for contacting you will be longer if:

• We are in a period of high demand; or
• We are waiting to receive the pass list from your education provider

If there's information or documentation missing from your application, we won't send it to the back of the queue. We'll review the information and continue processing your application. Please note, this may mean the application takes longer overall.
