Apply for readmission

How to apply for readmission

You should only make an application if you have been out of practice for under two years, or have met our return to practice requirements.

Readmission process

1 Submit application form

The documents below contain the forms and guidance notes that will make up your application.

If you have practised in the last two years, you'll need to complete a readmission form.

If you have not practised for more than two years, you must download and complete a return to practice form. Information about the evidence you'll need to provide, and the activities you'll need to undertake, is in our returning to practice section.

If you came off the Register within the past month, please see our short readmission page.

2 Application review and processing

We aim to process all applications within 10 working days. The time may vary depending on the volume of applications received.

3 Outcome

  • Successful applicants will have their details added to the Register automatically
  • Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by writing. If your application is unsuccessful, you may have grounds to appeal the decision. Go to appeals to begin this process.

Frequently asked questions

Readmission fee and processing times

  • The fee we ask you to pay once your application has been checked is called a readmission fee.

This is a non refundable payment of £290.90 and includes the first year (or part year) of registration.

The readmission fee is not payable if your name was removed from the Register less than once month from the date, we receive your application.

  • When we've processed your details, you'll be able to pay your fee in your online account.

We'll email you to confirm this. Please note, if you haven't logged in to your online account before, you'll need to activate your account first.

    How to activate your account

  • Once we’ve received your readmission form and fee, we’ll process them as quickly as possible. Our service level is 10 working days for this, but it can be much quicker.

Setting up your account when paying the fee

  • This can be caused by a number of factors. One or more of the changes below should resolve it.

    1. Make sure you are using the most recent temporary password you were sent. Each time a password is generated, the previous one becomes invalidated. This will mean it is rejected. If you’ve generated multiple passwords, make sure there is no chance that the correct one is still on its way.

    2. Follow the link in the activation email itself. This is a unique link with information that communicates with your account settings. You won’t be able to activate your account wihtout clicking it.

    3. Open the activation link using a browser that is not Google Chrome. To do this, right click the link (or tap and hold) and select ‘Copy link address’. Then paste it into a new browser.

    4. Go to the activation page (hcpc-uk.org/activate), enter the same email address and use the ‘Change email and activate’ button.

    5. Go to the activation page (hcpc-uk.org/activate), enter a new email address and use the ‘Change email and activate’ button.
