Policy on use of tests of competence when assessing international registration applications

This policy sets out the nature of the tests of competence and reasons behind the approach we use.

Background

During an international application, our registration assessors may decide to invite an applicant to undertake a test of competence.

Such invitations are made when the assessors consider that a test of competence will help materially with their assessment of whether an applicant meets the standards of proficiency.

More information

More information about the test of competence and how we assess applicants' education, training and experience can be found in our international applications section.
