Our employees have access to the following benefits

Finance and savings

  • We offer a competitive salary, using external benchmarking, to ensure we are on trend with other regulators and similar organisations in the market.

  • We provide a salary sacrifice pension scheme for all employees and will double contributions up to a maximum of 8% of salary (i.e., if you sacrifice 4%, the HCPC will pay 8%).

  • For members of the pension scheme, we provide group life assurance. This means that in the event of your death whilst employed, your nominated beneficiaries will receive a payment equivalent to 9 times your basic salary.

  • All HCPC employees have access to our online reward platform My Health, My Care, My Rewards. This gives employees access to retail discounts, benefits and a wellbeing centre. It’s also a way of sharing positive feedback to colleagues and acknowledging good work through an instant reward (voucher scheme) and recognition!

Work life balance

  • Our standard hours are Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm with an hour for lunch. We recognise that this doesn’t suit everyone, so please read on to understand how the HCPC supports hybrid and flexible working.

  • We recognise that people want to strike the right balance with work and life outside of work. We support hybrid working to allow our employees to achieve a positive work life balance – this means where possible, employees can spend some time working from our offices in Kennington, and some time working from home.

The expectation is that you would spend 20-40% of your week in the office; however, all roles are different so if you have any specific questions about how this might work for you, please email recruitment@hcpc-uk.org. To further support this, all HCPC employees are issued with a laptop to allow the flexibility of home and office working.

  • We are committed to providing an excellent range of workspace as part of our Hybrid working approach. The office has areas for meetings of different sizes and types, as well as break out areas, furnished for comfortable gatherings and meetings. Exciting new spaces are being commissioned for use in both desk-based offices and collaboration and innovation areas. If you need to work from the office simply book a desk in one of the available offices. Also, feel free to utilise the day lockers to securely store your personal items.

  • To support our hybrid working culture, we allow employees and potential HCPC employees to request flexible working. That can mean part-time working, compressed hours, job share etc.

  • Employees are entitled to a generous 30 days annual leave (pro-rated for part time workers) paid bank and public holidays and discretionary Christmas closure days.

Family friendly

  • We offer generous enhanced paid leave for Maternity, Adoption, Shared Parental Leave (subject to eligibility).

Engagement initiatives

  • We recognise and value the hard work, commitment and achievements of all employees. The ‘Making the Difference’ (MTD) awards are intended to provide recognition to those employees from any role or band whose exceptional contribution on a one-off or short-term basis has been outstanding and is worthy of recognition.

  • We utilise the Communities function on Yammer to allow employees to engage and connect in this hybrid working world. That means our Virtual Water Cooler group can still ask the burning questions of ‘if you were stranded on a deserted island…’ and employees can share their top parenting tips on the Parent Club group. We are also committed to celebrating our People and Culture – this means dedicated events to raise awareness on Health and Wellbeing and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion issues.

  • Our hot drinks stations located around our offices offer a variety of teas and coffees, which are free for employees and visitors to use. A great way to catch up with colleagues in person!

  • There are opportunities to join any of the HCPC working groups such as The Employee Forum or become an EDI Representative.

Learning and Development

  • We will sponsor employees for a course of study deemed relevant/beneficial to the organisation.

  • We will reimburse the cost of fees for relevant professional membership which an employee might hold e.g. CIPD, ACCA.

  • Employees have access to an e-Learning platform with a library of hundreds of online training courses.

  • These policies aim to allow employees the opportunity to expand their knowledge and personal development by either applying for a Sabbatical (unpaid) or through a Secondment arrangement (internal and external opportunities).

  • We’ve rolled out a number of internal programmes to assist in the development of our employees. These include Aspiring Leaders, Beyond Barriers as well as a number of apprenticeship opportunities.

Health and wellbeing

  • Get unlimited access to a 24/7, 365 days online GP, as well as a range of other health and wellbeing experts, via Smart Health. Also available to employees’ partners and children up to age of 21.

  • Employees can apply for the Cycle to Work loan, making this a tax-free benefit.

  • A confidential information and support service available to you and your immediate family 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

  • We have a trained cohort of Mental Health First Aiders who are available to discuss confidential wellbeing issues with.

  • All employees who work with Display Screen Equipment (DSE) have the right to an eyesight test, provided by the HCPC. Our eyecare test vouchers let you choose from over 1,400 affiliated opticians, through our provider EyeCare Plan.

  • For employees who are charged for an annual flu jab, the cost can be reimbursed as an employee expense.

  • To support health and wellbeing in the work environment, employees will have access to our Occupational Health Service, HCA Primary Care.

  • Our online DSE assessment allows employees to self-assess their desk set up. Our Office Services team can provide additional advice and support in this area.
