HCPC statement in response to the Government’s Brexit Transition Period guidance for health and care professionals

26 Tach 2020

Responding to the Government’s latest Brexit Transition Period guidance for health and care professionals, Richard Houghton, Head of Registration, said:

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our current Registrants from the European Union, who play such a vital role in so many of the UK’s health and care services.

“The Government guidance confirms that those already on our Register do not need to take any additional actions. Following the UK’s exit from the European Union and the end of the transition period on 31 December 2020, the renewal process will be no different than from previous years.

“For EU applicants planning to submit an application before 11pm (GMT) on the 31 December 2020, the registration process will be the same as usual for EU applicants. Applicants who submit after this time will follow new arrangements. For most applicants, this will be our current international application process.

“We will be providing further updates on what Brexit means for EU applicants in the coming weeks, and we are working to ensure our registration process is updated in line with the changes. If applicants have any further questions, our registration team will be happy to help."
