Standards of education and training review: Public workshop

A chance to hear more about our review of the standards of education and training (SETs) and some of the changes that we are proposing.

This workshop is open to members of the public and registrants.

The standards of education and training are a key part of our statutory role to protect the public. Strong standards mean that the public can feel assured that anyone qualifying in the UK will have the skills and knowledge they need to join our Register and to deliver safe and effective care.

About the standards of education and training review

We review our standards periodically to ensure that they are up-to date with current practice.

Through this review we aim to consider how the standards of education and training should change to reflect current practice, how they could be strengthened, how they should align with our other standards and how they would be implemented by education providers.

Consultation on the proposed changes

We’re consulting on proposed changes to our standards of education and training, which are designed to protect the public by ensuring the quality of education and training programmes for the 15 health and care professions that we regulate. 

The consultation is open now and closes on 16 February 2025.
