Unacceptable behaviour policy

At the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), we value feedback from all individuals, whether it highlights areas for improvement, offers praise, or raises concerns about our services. Every piece of feedback is considered on its merits, as it helps us learn and improve.

While most interactions with HCPC and HCPTS staff are constructive, there are occasions where behaviour may become unacceptable or unreasonable. This policy sets out how we identify and manage such behaviour, particularly where it causes disruption, disproportionate cost, or impacts staff wellbeing.

We expect all interactions to be respectful and courteous, and we are committed to treating individuals with professionalism and respect. We also have a duty to protect our staff, and where behaviour causes concern, we may take action, including restricting or ending communication.
