Sanctions policy

We recently consulted on updates to this policy. The revised version came into effect on 2 March 2026.

The HCPC sanctions policy sets out the principles a Practice Committee Panel (the ‘panel’) should consider when deciding what, if any, sanction should be imposed in fitness to practise cases.

It aims to ensure that decisions are fair, consistent and transparent and that sanctions are sufficient to protect the public and to promote and maintain appropriate standards and public confidence in the professions regulated by the HCPC.
