Visitors include registered members of the professions that we regulate and members of the public. They assess education and training programmes to make a recommendation about whether they meet our standards.
Visitors are responsible for visiting and assessing existing and proposed education and training programmes delivered by education providers. As part of this, they provide recommendations to our Education and Training Committee regarding the approval or on-going approval of programmes.
They also give expert advice and contribute to decision making as directed by the Council or relevant committee.
It is a privilege to be an HCPC visitor. In this role I have learnt and developed skills in the assessment of education and training programmes of biomedical scientists at the entry stage of HCPC registration. During the process we are offered opportunities to interact with learners, educational institutions, service users and other visitors. I have certainly benefited in being able to offer my services to protect the public.
