Expectations of the fitness to practise complaints process

Date of publication: 23/01/2010

Category: Research

Audience: Registrants

This research was commissioned from IPSOS Mori. It examined the views of a sample of members of the public, registrants, complainants and key stakeholders on expectations of the HPC’s (now HCPC’s) fitness to practise process. This included individuals who had experienced the process themselves. The report recommended better signposting, improvements to the information provided to all parties, and exploring the role that mediation might play in the complaints process. Specific suggestions regarding case handling and communication were also made.
