The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is seeking views on three consultations it has launched today.
The consultations cover the proposed new guidance on social media, revised guidance on continual professional development (CPD) and revised guidance on confidentiality.
Guidance on Social Media
We have drafted the guidance on social media in response to feedback that professionals would value published guidance which provides reassurance and the confidence that they are meeting expected standards when using social media. Focusing on the ethical aspects of social media use, the draft guidance provides advice about meeting our Standards of Conduct, performance and ethics (SCPE).
Revised guidance on CPD
A consultation on newly revised CPD guidance has also been launched, with the proposed changes primarily aimed at improving the style and content of the ‘CPD and your registration’ guidance document.
Revised guidance on Confidentiality
The HCPC’s existing guidance on confidentiality has also been revised, with the proposed changes primarily aimed at increasing the clarity and usefulness of the guidance, and reflecting recent changes made to the Standards of Conduct Performance and Ethics (SCPE) following a review in early 2016.
All three consultations will run until Friday 13 January 2017
