Government
Although we are an independent regulator, we work closely with both the Department of Health and the Department for Education in England, responding to briefing requests and parliamentary questions. We also work closely with the governments in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, undertaking regular, structured stakeholder visits with regulatory civil servants and health departments.
We also undertake a number of other stakeholder engagement activities with the UK government and those in the devolved countries;
- participate in annual joint-regulator conferences in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales;
- respond to relevant consultations; and
- appearances before committees in Parliament.
