Panel chairs
HCPC Panel chairs are either members of the public or HCPC Registrants. All Panel chairs have previous experience of Fitness to Practise (FtP) Hearings and have received HCPC Panel chair training. Panel chairs oversee a range of independent panels considering fitness to practise allegations.
They chair Fitness to Practise Panels (within the parameters for each Panel) ensuring they are conducted in accordance with the Health and Social Work Professions Order 2001 and all other relevant policies and procedures.
Panel members spend approximately 20 to 30 working days each year presiding over hearings. Due variable number of cases from the various professions, there is no guarantee of the amount of work offered to panel chairs.
