Home > About Us > Aims and vision > Quality

As an organisation, our aim is to make sure that we always provide the best quality of service for all our stakeholders. To help us achieve this aim our Quality System was set up.

By establishing a Quality System and assessing ourselves against standards we try to ensure that we adhere to best practice in everything we do. Standards exist to represent best practice benchmarks in a variety of areas, including Quality Systems.

Our Quality System is registered with BSI (The British Standards Institute). BSI’s role is to assess both public and private sector bodies against internationally agreed standards. BSI has more than 40,000 clients worldwide including Vodafone, Ericsson, Sony and Kodak.

In July 2004 we became to first UK health and social care regulator to become registered to ISO 9001:2000 - Quality Management Systems.Meeting the ISO 9001:2000 standard requires us to clearly document how we work as an organisation; this includes, mapping processes, setting performance targets and making sure that we continually improve.

In April 2009 we successfully migrated to the Quality Management Systems standard ISO9001:2008 and in May 2018 we migrated to the ISO9001:2015 version, Certificate number FS 83074.

The benefits
Our Quality System means that we can:

  • understand and meet the needs of our stakeholders;
  • ensure greater consistency in the service we offer; and
  • improve our internal and external communication.
